Tablet Takeover

I read somewhere that around 70% of people in the world watch their movies on tablet PCs. And I get it. A laptop is great for working and everything, but tablets are a lot more.. fun. They’re easier to hold, carry around, show things off on. You’ve really got to hand it to Steve Jobs – the guy was a visionary.

Anyway, been thinking about giving in and getting a tablet PC. I probably won’t get an iPad (I already plan on getting the next iPhone – an iPad would be pretty redundant), so I’m looking at the other gizmos on the market. Giving the Archos tablet some serious consideration. Ah well. Let’s see if I go crazy this weekend.

The Pool Problem

So we’re finally building the house. After years of my mom talking about building a new house, we’re finally getting around to getting it done. I guess it’s just in our nature to put things off. It’s probably a genetic thing because I’m like that for sure.

The thing is, now we’re having issues with whether to put in a pool or not. My mom insists that she wants a pentair pool in the house, but personally, I think it’s going to be a waste. Maintenance will be costly, and I seriously doubt she’ll even use it. Then again, it is her house, being built with her money. If she wants a pool, who am I to say no?

Most Effective Diet Ever!

It’s been a month, and I’ve lost around 10 pounds! The best part? I did this by eating tapsilog almost every day, with two cups of rice! Tonight, I’m having lechon kawali with more rice! And this is all diet-approved!

I’m also lifting heavier than ever, and my workouts are only 20-30 minutes per session, max, including warm-ups. It’s time to bring out the clothes I packed away because I couldn’t fit into them anymore. If I lose 20 more pounds, I’ll get myself a bespoke suit, complete with cuff links and the works. As Tupac said, If you got it better flaunt it let the liquor help you get up on it!

The Small Stuff

So it’s official. The folks are going to have a new house built. It’ll be complete with a gym, a media room, and it’s looking like they’re putting in a swimming pool as well. They had me at gym room. Most likely I won’t be able to use the house that much, but hey, the time I’ll be using it, I’ll probably be in the gym room.

For now, everybody’s worried about what kind of flooring to use, what tiles to put in – all the interior design stuff that straight men are not good at. I mean, it doesn’t really matter to me if we use green or blue tiles, or if we have plastic or wooden switch plate covers. If it’s got walls and a roof, it’s fine by me.

Road Trip!

This year, I want to go on a road trip. I’ve got a few trips planned this year, starting with Donsol in February, but I want to go DRIVE somewhere. I want to hit the road and just drive for 7 to 8 hours straight. Maybe I’ll even look into rv loans so I can sleep on the road, too.

I’ve realized that I’m pretty much living a pretty boring life. This could be just what I need to snap out of my funk. Then again, it’s going to be pretty tough sticking to my diet while I’m on the road. Can’t believe I just actually said that. But hey, what will happen will happen. When the road calls, we’ll find out if I’ll actually answer.

Well, Christmas has come and gone, and I’m pretty happy with what I got and I gave out, I think. It was tough finding the right stuff, but overall I think everybody liked what they got from me. If only getting my GF gifts were that easy.

I guess I could always go the easy route and buy her yoga stuff. Then again, it’s not as easy as you’d think. Yoga clothes, yoga towels, mats.. all of those things have their corresponding brands I have to find. Seriously, gift-giving is TOUGH. Some things I understand, some things I don’t. This one, I don’t.

Clothing Tycoon

I’ve been thinking about going into the uniform business. I mean, like supplying maintenance personnel companies with uniforms, hospitals with nurses uniforms, all that stuff. I just feel like there’s some serious money to be made there.

Then again, the same can be said about any industry. That’s the thing about money – you can make in almost any way you can think of. You just have to do the research, put in the work, and get a little lucky. I’m going to need some serious help on all three counts.

Prepping for the league

I’ve been working out and trying to cut some weight for our basketball league like crazy. After last year’s awful finish, I can’t let this rest. I’ve got to get out there and really show them who’s the man.

Aside from the physical work I’m putting in though, I’m also trying to work on my game, mentally. I’ve asked where I can download video footage of our games so I can see what I can improve on. Not surprisingly, there’s a lot I could have done better.

Biggest thing, though? The endurance. It was so obvious that I was nowhere near game shape. As a result, I wasn’t able to play the way I wanted to.

New Layout?

Don’t get me wrong, I love how clean and simple this 2011 layout is, but I really dislike the fact that the images change arbitrarily. I wonder if there was some way I can get them to stay permanently. Sometimes, it sucks to be technologically-challenged.

I WILL say that the new WordPress dashboard is just AMAZING. It’s clean and easy and just really ENJOYABLE to use. You know how some math professors like to talk about elegant equations? This is a seriously elegantly coded dashboard. Just brilliant, and I’m not even familiar with the code they used.

At the end of the day, it’s the user-experience that defines success, and this user is more than impressed with the work they’ve done. Good job, WordPress.

Recording Star

I don’t know if most readers know this, but I used to write and record my own songs a few years back. Of course, the microphones I used were cheap and terrible, so they couldn’t really do justice to the golden quality of my voice, but I think I did pretty well. OK no, I was awful. But it was pretty fun, actually. Good creative outlet.

I wish I had hung on to the records, though. I mean, those are the things you can never bring back. I won’t lie – I had dreams of making it big as a pop star, but whatever. Kids gotta dream, right?
